Jennifer Rodgers Gordon
Wednesday, June 24
at Round Table Bookstore
826 N. Kansas Ave., Topeka
Her innate talent as a singer led to Jennifer’s love of words and verse. Jennifer began writing poetry more than fifty years ago for reflection and contemplation on life as a baby boomer living through the 1960s. She often uses the repetition of words and phrases in her poetry. “Poetically Pregnant” was her self-published book poems, chronicling her joys and struggles as a wife and mother. She often wrote poems on life for her children, “In The Garden.”
Since retiring in 2021, Jennifer has doubled-down on writing poetry. Her “Poem for a Poet: Gwendolyn Brooks,” was selected by the Topeka Arts Connect panel and featured in their, “Blooming in the Noise of the Whirlwind: A Tribute Topeka Poets Past and Present,” exhibition.
Jennifer will begin at 6:15 p.m.
