As a statewide organization, the Kansas Authors Club publishes an annual yearbook and, beginning in 2023, Writing from the Center, the Kansas Authors Club Zine.
The Kansas Authors Club Yearbook is published in the spring of each year, with distribution typically no later than April.
Submissions are due between August 1 and October 31, electronic receipt or postmark
Every Member having paid current dues is invited to submit ONE literary contribution for the yearbook. That submission can be either prose or poetry. Prose is limited to one printed page (no more than 500 words). Poetry is limited to one printed page (no more than 40 lines including spaces between verses).

- All literary contributions remain the property of the individual authors. Authors may continue to use or distribute their work without requesting permission from the Kansas Authors Club. No work printed in the KAC yearbook may be copied or distributed in any form without explicit permission from the author.
- Yearbook Submissions are preferred via the online site, Submittable. There is NO CHARGE to submit a yearbook entry.

Writing from the Center, the zine of Kansas Authors Club is an opportunity for members and non-members of Kansas Authors Club to share their creativity with the world. The expected publication date is fall 2024 with the Zine to be launched at the 2024 convention taking place October 4-6.

Please submit each individual piece on a separate document with the title of the piece as the name of the file. If you submit poetry, please put each piece on its own document. Please submit written work using a DOC or DOCX file. The author's name or any identifying text should not appear anywhere in the document. Please submit visual art as a JPG file.
Please include a biography of 50-100 words, written in 3rd person. There will be a space on the submission form to type this or paste it.
We will not be accepting previous KAC winners through Submittable.
Eligible Writers/Artists: Any current member of Kansas Authors Club may submit at no cost. Non-members must pay a $5 reading fee for their work to be considered.
By entering, you grant Writing from the Center permission to print in the next edition. You attest that your entry is your original work. Unpublished work is preferred. By submitting previously published work, you are signifying that you can assign Writing from the Center permission to print. Please disclose the publication status when submitting.
Note that work submitted to the Zine in 2024 is also eligible for the 2024 Kansas Authors Club writing contest, as the zine will not be publicly available until convention time. It is also true that pieces published in the zine in 2024, would not be eligible for the contest in 2025.
